I CIOFF Senegal
The CIOFF National Section in Senegal was founded in 1998. It was chaired by Mademba Diop, and its Secretary General Yahya Nodye who stands in for him in this moment.
The “Water Festival Eco Arts” takes place annually in Yoff-Dakar, and is one of the essential activities managed by the Senegalese National Section.
II Senegal and UNESCO
« The intangible heritage is yet another operational orientation. A safeguarding project was launched to protect the Kankurang, Manding Initiatory Rite. This ritual, which is also practised in Gambia, was proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005.

There is about 50 festivals well-spreaded on the territory, to promote folk art.
