I CIOFF Mali
The national Section of CIOFF in Mali was made up of in 1999, and has been intervening as Corresponding Member. Since its creation, it has been presided by Mamadou Cherif Diabate.
Actually, a projet of restructuring runs its course within CIOFF Burkina.
II Mali and UNESCO
“Mali and UNESCO have also cooperated very actively in the field of intangible heritage. An inventory of intangible expressions is being drawn up, and an action plan has been implemented to safeguard the Cultural Space of the Yaaral and Degal, which was proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2005.
The cultural space of the Yaaral and the Degal encompasses the vast pastoral lands of the Peul of the inner Niger Delta. The Yaaral and the Degal festivities mark the crossing of the river at the time of the transhumance.” - UNESCO's sources
